As one of the Midwest's best photographers of the fine art nude, I work primarily with models wishing to serve as subjects or interested in expanding their portfolios in this regard. Examples of my work with fine art nudes may be seen at my site (
www.shaynes.com/NudesPortfolio.htm). If you are looking to model for me or expand your fine art portfolio with an experienced and tasteful photographer, please contact me.
Read what Brooke Lynn, one of my favorite models, says of my influence on her art:

Famed photographer Jock Sturges says of me: "You are ... one of the best small camera [i.e., digital SLR] photographers I know."
*** Notice ***: I have published
A Photographer's Guide to Section 2257, which covers all aspects of Section 2257 requirements for photographers.

My patience with models who flake is finally exhausted. Please be considerate: when I schedule a session with you, I'm committing to at least three hours of time before and during the shoot, time that would otherwise be devoted to something else, and I'm also committing to invest a fair amount of time working on the photos, time that is not available for me to schedule other shoots. (I am very responsible in this regard: you will see results usually within 48-72 hours of our shoot.)
So, ladies, here are the rules: (1) If I have worked with you before and you ask to postpone, I shall be pleased to reschedule; (2) if we've not worked before and you ask to postpone with reasonable advance notice, I shall be pleased to reschedule; (3) if you cancel for whatever reason and do not ask to reschedule, I'll assume you are no longer interested; (4) if you cancel without rescheduling too near to the appointment, it's a
flake unless you convince me otherwise; and (5)
if you flake, I will not work with you, and neither will other photographers. (Here's my suggestion: if you are new to modeling nude and change your mind, just say so; we're most of us adults around here and will understand.) Photographing nudes since 2001, I have NEVER flaked on a model, and only rarely have I asked one to reschedule. I won't flake on you; don't flake on me.
Having said that, a sincere "Thank You" to all the models I've worked with who are considerate, timely, responsible, and just plain nice -- it is you who keep me doing this thing.
Two of my photographs,
Profane Jennifer 21 (first photo in my gallery) and
Brooke & the Box 19 (second photo in my gallery, were selected as "finalists" in the massive French
PHOTO magazine contest (50,000 entries), and the first is printed in the January 2009 issue of the magazine. This is the second year in a row my photos have been selected.
Over two hundred collectors in over thirty-five states and twelve foreign countries own my prints. I am represented by a gallery in Minneapolis. I am published internationally and monographs of my work are available. A set of my erotic nudes is held in the permanent collection of The Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction. Other photos accepted for juried shows (some of them winning awards) may be seen at
www.shaynes.com/Shows.htm . You may also see there the thirty of my nudes included in the May 2008 and 2009
The Nude in Minnesota shows.
Following are select models with whom I have done artistic nudes. I don't do fashion, I don't do commercial, and I rarely even let "glamour" intrude on my style. (This list got too long in its full version -- over forty MM models, not to mention dozens who have come to me from outside MM -- so I'm cutting back to only those who still model and with whom I've worked repeatedly.)
Megss (MM #452684) - I've worked with Meg over twenty times since 2003, and I cannot speak more highly of her.
Brooke Lynne (MM #435770) - eleven times and she just keeps getting better. She's cut back because she's back in school now, but if you get an opportunity to work with Brooke, you won't regret it -- one of the best fine art models in America.
akrsouth (MM #21820) - Abigail is a real pro, although she's modeling less these days.
xxxMissSalemxxx (MM #366452) - she's a star (literally, a movie star), so may be hard to connect with, but she's an intense experience for any photographer.
Paige Kelly (MM #482500) - Gorgeous, TALL, and a very accomplished fine art model.
Kenzie Lee (MM #728649) - One of the most enthusiastic models I've worked with, with the kind of body (and mind) photographers dream of.
Julia Bendel (MM #741952) - Julia has a nearly perfect body, and her photographs show she knows how to use it.
Erin Magnuson (MM #891267) - Erin has a wealth of experience, so an accomplished photographer will find her to be an excellent model, and if you are still learning she will improve your skills mightily.
Annie Boddie (MM #1204976) - Annie and I have worked together to fine-tune her modeling skills -- get to her while she's still relatively unknown.
Gianni Marmo (MM #473891) - Relatively new to the modeling scene, but she has an innate modeling sense that will make rewarding a session with her. She's in school now out of state, so is only infrequently available.
