My thoughts on photography:
A famous photographer once said "Light meters read; photographers interpret". And so it is that I see my job as a way to interpret a situation, a mood, setting, scene & emotion through and with whomever I am shooting.
A little about my concept of shooting. I shoot anywhere and everywhere. I trust planning, but I also embrace spontaneity and unplanned creativity. I like bold as well as subtle imagry. I love to explore new places and concepts. I am still learning, and always will be.
I sometimes like to work with new models or photographers. I feel it is my responsibility to give something back. So I will sometimes help newer models and photographers get started. However, I will offer tfp shoots with only those models who exhibit real talent, interest and potential.
I am always professional, but insist on having fun-no matter the situation. If I can not get those I work with to laugh or smile at some point during the shoot I have failed.
I thrive on positive, creative energy.
I always try to remember this quote by Claude Adams "Having and camera makes you no more a photographer than having a hammer and some nails makes you a carpenter".
I would rather be known for the images I create then the words that I write.
