Hi everyone, this is Jim!

I am a photographer living just south of Boston, looking to meet some fantastic models to create art with!

I am looking to focus on (but not limit myself to) glamor, swimwear, lingerie, nudes and implied, and pin-up images. Other interests include creepy setting (abandoned building, etc.) and shoots outdoors (nothing looks as beautiful on a model’s skin as the natural light of the sun, in my opinion.).

I am also interested in what you might have in mind. I do not view, or treat a model as a mannequin with skin, or just a piece of meat. You are an artist the same as me, and I am always eager to hear what ideas you might have, and to try and make them happen together.

•    Creepy (hey, this is the Internet, right?)

•    Nasty or Mean
•    Overly Controlling
•    Late (usually I am early to a shoot)
•    Flaky (if I make a plan with you, I won’t blow it off unless something catastrophic happens)
•    Stiff or Unadaptive.
   

Something else that I am not: arrogant, pretentious, stuck-up, or generally full of myself. I read one photographer’s profile, and he basically hated on about twenty different types of models and situations, and went on to comment on one of his own photos, about how good it was, not once, but twice! That is the photographer’s equivalent of a raging diva, in my opinion. And that ain’t me!

FRIEND REQUESTS
Please, please, please no drive-by friend requests, ok? My MM friend list is for people with whom I have worked or am planning to work with. It's not a social network, it is a way of keeping track. I am sorry if it sounds rude, but a random friend request with no note is going to be declined.

MY SHOOTING STYLE
My approach to a shoot is a very freewheeling, make it up as we go style. I go into a shoot with a sketch, or outline, of a plan, and prefer to let the plan evolve along the way. I have found that this creates an ideal environment for real collaboration between a model and myself.
Also, I am not huge on direction. I will give suggestions, and ask you to turn more to the left to get the light better on your face, for example, but I am not one to try an manipulate and control every muscle in your body. I would prefer that you move and pose in a manner that feels natural to you, because this will look more natural (i.e., better) in our shots. Also, I will pitch a ton of thoughts and ideas at you as we go along. Some you will like, some you might not. Say "NO" once, and I won't ask a second time.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM A SHOOT WITH ME
I am not going to sit here and tell you how wonderful, amazing, and perfect your shots will be with me, any more than I am going to make that same, tired claims that I am an award-winning photographer who has shot for Maxim and Playboy (these magazines must have thousands of photographers working for them, according to claims made on MM!!!)
Here is what I will promise: after a shoot together, you will have the entire shoot, the good, the bad, and the ugly, that very day. We can do this one of two ways: if you want to bring a laptop and download the photos right there on the spot, fine. If not, then I will go home and put the whole shoot onto a Google Docs page, and e-mail you a link once it is finished. Give me a week or so after that, and I promise you a minimum of 25 fully edited, Photoshopped and branded photos uploaded to Google for you to download. Typically quite a bit more than twenty-five.
