I started creating photographs around the age of 10 and by the time I was 15 had developed an interest in the advertising industry. I had a rather diverse portfolio by the time I entered college and after a year in a photo program I changed my study to business.
I shot my first commercial job when I was 19 years old and began assisting photographers in the Detroit market for several years after. I learned a lot from some great shooters in Detroit and started shooting more consistently while working full time at a studio in Troy Mi.
The transition to the Toledo market was a very easy move. The best part was developing closer relationships with the artists I work with. This always tends to lead to more collaboration and better images in the end.
I love creating images of people. I have always enjoyed working with people and capturing the character and personality of my subjects. Although my portfolio consists of mostly people I have created images throughout my career in the areas of architecture, automotive,still-life, location and just about any subject that can be captured through a lens.
Some of the companies I have created images for are names like, General Motors, Chrysler, VW, Audi, Dana Corp, Consolidated Stores, FTD,……etc, etc, etc.
I try to create an atmosphere during a shoot that is relaxed and casual where we can all have a good time and capture some great images. This biz is full of a ton of stress and pressure and if we can all have a bit of fun while shooting then everybody will have a great experience.
The creative process is the passion that drives me. I feel very lucky to be part of a business for over 20 years and still look forward to jumping out of bed every morning ready to start the day.
I look forward to working with you.
