About Me

In the early 70's I began shooting several covers for what was called at that time, "Romance covers". Next shooting models for Paper back covers such as "Signal"," Dell"  and " Beeline".  Began shooting nudes, as what was called also at that time," Glamour Photography". When I moved to Southern California in the early seventies, I began shooting freelance for Penthouse Magazine which lasted up to 30+ years.  During that time In 1999, I became the official staff photographer, which lasted to the end of the Bob Guccione area in 2005.
Taking some time off from Photography for well over 7 years to date, my appetite for photography was escalating.  I am beginning to extend my Fantasy art imagery I began in the early years of 2000.  What I called "Fantasy Art" , those layouts appeared in Penthouse Magazine and ran almost continuously from month to month for 11 months.  The backgrounds were all hand painted on a seamless background 12 feet  in height to 60 feet in length.  Anywhere from 12 to 18 strobes were gelled to light and enhanced the backgrounds, taking up to 2 weeks in prep time.  Some of those images appear in my portfolio. That same imagery now will have a more "Fine Art" modern contemporary flair and some of the models here will be a part of it....  Carl Wachter
