For over 30 years, Ken Marcus has produced outstanding photographs of beautiful women and erotic images. His award winning work has been featured regularly in the finest magazines, books, galleries and museums around the world.
Ken became interested in photography at age 5, and at age 12 began studying under Ansel Adams in Yosemite as his youngest student. He later attended Art Center College of Design and Brooks Institute of Photography while continuing with Adams for 13 years.
At 23, Ken shifted his interests from nature to nudes and began shooting for Penthouse Magazine as their first American photographer. Three years later he switched publications and became the main centerfold photographer for Playboy Magazine. Ken produced hundreds of glamour editorials, calendars, covers and Playmate layouts.
After 11 years with the 'Big Bunny', Ken returned to Penthouse and went on to produce ten years of editorials and covers for Muscle & Fitness Magazine where he photographed the world’s top bodybuilders and fitness models. Also, during that time, Ken was selected as the ‘Artist in Residence’ at the Yosemite National Park Museum where his Nudes in Nature series still exists as part of their permanent photographic collection.
Located on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood, California, Ken Marcus Studios, Inc. has produced thousands of national advertisements, celebrity posters, calendars and album covers for editorial, commercial, entertainment and international clients.
For many years, Ken conducted workshops, seminars and lectures on the fine art of glamour and nude photography. He has instructed thousands of photographers in the US, Europe, Australia, Asia, and South America. His highly acclaimed video series on the advanced techniques of glamour photography was distributed worldwide.
Ken’s most recent works revolve around themes of bondage, fetish and other erotic situations. He is most interested in working with erotic models, ballet dancers, contortionists, body builders, performance artists, athletes and others that are involved in body modification, artistic self-expression and/or alternative lifestyles.
