My name is David Rhys Balmer
I do different types of art so I don’t particularly identify with the title of "photographer" because I don’t like being constricted to only one medium. I studied sculpture school and I’ve been in many musical projects. Last year I produced and directing my first a short film and I am currently shooting a feature length film that should be released next year.
I love photography but I think my best photographic works are inspired by the allegorical imagery like you see in religious and mythological art…im as inspired by Corinne Day as Caravaggio
My most recent work is up on my website and my tumblr which are linked here and some older stuff can be found on myspace under the name Francis Magpie. As a side note I am a licensed captain and sailing instructor which brings me to ports other than my own where i try and fit in a photo shoot or two which I’ve found is a great introduction to new places and people.
Disclaimer: This website has a lot of people new to photography and modeling and a lot of what’s great about this site is the trade for time that one needs to get started building a portfolio for ether jobs but my time and I hope your time is not free. For myself I have many different artistic outlets and my time is carefully allotted to these different projects. If you feel you cannot commit to a project TFP or not let me know and we can make tentative plans Don’t expect me to reschedule if you waste my time.
Please no prima donnas, board, late or generally non sparkling people apply. There is never good enough lighting to compensate for these formally mentioned shortcomings. Also if you doubt the purity of my intentions please feel free to contact any models I’ve worked with. Chaperones or escorts are unnecessary and distracting unless they are collaborating on the shoot. I am also disinclined to discuss concept unless we have shot before or have an already established rapport.
