Darcy Donavan Biography

Darcy Donavan grew up in Nashville, TN. While overcoming many tragedies at a young age the triple threat performer used her voice, sense of humor, and down to earth personality to get her through many tough times. Though things were difficult for her, she used her talent to help others around her. Growing up, she was often found performing her music at children's hospitals, as well as raising money for many charities in her hometown of Nashville, TN. A born performer, Darcy landed her first major acting role at the age of 8 in a national commercial where she beat out over 500 other kids. From that moment on, Darcy's future in the spotlight was sealed.

Over the next few years, Darcy moved on to win numerous talent and beauty competitions including the honor of Ms. Nashville, Tennessee. She caught the eye of a renowned agent and was immediately cast in several national films, television shows and commercials. During this time she began her career touring as a singer as well, opening up for many well-known artists as she toured the country. Darcy's first album broke platinum status in Canada and gained worldwide exposure.

With her career growing, she moved to Los Angeles to be quickly cast in several top name movies such as "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind", "Showtime" with Robert Deniro, and Eddie Murphy and "Tomcats" with Jerry O'Connell, and Shannon Elizabeth. Throughout this time, Darcy also landed other roles in T.V. shows such as NBC's "My Name is Earl", NBC's "Las Vegas" with James Caan and ABC's soap opera "Passions". She was cast in the role of "Sherry" in the comedic blockbuster film "Anchorman", starring Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate.

As an accomplished actress, singer and dancer with her on-going popularity and online presence she immediately became a celebrity spokes model for several top companies. Through her career, Darcy has also graced the covers of hundreds celebrity magazines and has been seen in numerous media outlets internationally.

To this day, Darcy still continues to engage in her philanthropic work, speaking for several charity causes including raising money for Los Angeles school systems, as well as doing a nationwide school tour to help students whose program funds have been cut. She even hosted a speaking engagement in 2009 with the Los Angeles Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa, for the youth and sports education program citywide in Los Angeles.

Darcy was honored by the city council of Los Angeles and the Safe Passage Organization in 2009 for her ongoing work for domestic violence awareness, a charity she holds very close to heart, due to her own personal experiences as a child growing up. Darcy was also recognized as a World Peace Ambassador in 2009 and was also featured on the cover and interviewed in the book "Dream Reachers" alongside such names as Clint Eastwood, Tanya Tucker , Jane Russel and Betty Davis.

Darcy has followed up her singing career with singles from a new album titled "Distraction", with over 20 million listens to date. Songs from "Distraction" have gained international press and became a number one ring tone download in the US on major phone networks in 2010. Darcy currently can be found when she is not on set filming, doing music performances internationally.

In addition to being a multi-talented performer, Darcy is also known as an extremely savvy entrepreneur and writer. She has also been working on her autobiography; co-producing two feature films, a clothing line, as well as co-owning a successful entertainment company in Los Angeles, CA. Even though she has worked very hard to achieve her successes, you will always hear her giving thanks to God and her mother for where she is at today.
