Why Model Mayhem?
I am a designer/artist who is in the process of building my portfolio of model photography. I have a keen, artistic eye for composition, color, lighting, for the inner beauty of my models and also a love for story-telling in my images.
I wish to build my portfolio with more work & people and am interested in meeting models who want to either start, build or expand their own portfolios and are willing to shoot TFCD for now.
I especially wish to find models of all ages and body types who have an explorational side and also wish to bring ideas to the table as to themes, costumes, locations, makeup and/or creative brainstorming. I have many of my own creative shooting ideas that i wish to experiment with, but it's always nice to hear the ideas of a model or makeup artist as to what she/he thinks would be a shoot worth trying.
The styles that I am interested in capturing are various: artistic expression, fashion (not in the traditional sense, but more in an experimental style), fetish, macabre, corsetry, lingerie, humor and artistic nudes are some.
I would also like to find makeup artists and models who are interested in shooting and/or working in special effects or stylistic makeup; most likely theme-based or propped-based shoots with an emphasis on the surreal, the emotional or on humor.
Not all, but some of my current and future model photography work will also be photomanipulated in order to accentuate textures, themes and or locations. I would love to find models interested in building their portfolios to include this style of photography.
A little history on me:
My original fine art studies were in printmaking and film & animation (stop-motion). A big influence on my love for Eastern-European esthetique came from my love of the animated works by the Bros Quay.
I have since that time explored many mediums including motion graphics, the art of film & video editing, painting, and digital art, such as photomanipulation, vector art and web and Flash design.
