With looks that can double as Actor/Comedian “Chris Rock” and a keen eye for great photographic and video graph scenes, Fabian McGowan is fastly becoming well known for his photographic and video work in the South Florida and Caribbean Regions. He has made a big impact on the way people see photography and video.
The portraits Fabian have taken shows their own unique characteristics which has been said to resemble the likes of famous African American photographers Gordon Parks, James Vanderzee, Richard Clive Saunders, and Moneta Sleet.
Born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica, in the parish of St. Thomas, Fabian always had an interest in the arts and knowing that he would fulfil his dreams of becoming a great photographer like his father, Fitzroy McGowan and native Jamaican photographer Roy DeCaravan.
Fabians’ journey began with a love for Graphic Designing. Upon graduating from high school in 2000, Fabian devoted his time to expand his knowledge of graphic designing to learn such programs as Photoshop, Lightroom 3, Final Cut Pro7, Avid Media Compressor and After Effects to get my photos, videos and graphics done. Being a quick learner and skilful with his hands, Fabian soon mastered his craft.
As an upcoming freelance photographer, Fabian began taking on a variety of photography and/or video challenges where most photographers wouldn't have the guts to take. This notoriety propelled Fabian who was now becoming known for edgy styles in his images. He showed a unique photography approach than the more typical portrait photographer. He pretty quickly decided that he wanted to express his reaction and gradually settled on the medium of photography to do so.
