Zara Durrani is a renaissance woman. Born and raised in Pakistan, her family lived throughout southeast Asia before settling down in Vancouver. She not only brought her suitcase but her passion for performing. She quickly gained notoriety in the fashion industry and has appeared in over a hundred fashion shows and countless photo shoots.
Zara's hunger for performance was further satisfied after studying at School Creative and starring in a rendition of Neil Simon's “Barefoot in the Park.” Her talent can also be seen gracing the screen of the Leo-nominated film Sindoor, which is appearing in film festivals all over the world. Oh, and she is the star in it too! Not too shabby.
Zara is not only the name of a store, but the name of a yoga instructor. She studied among the lizards and bats of Bali and returned to Vancouver a yoga teacher. She can be found teaching at studios all over Vancouver.
Zara is also an activist, and has voiced her opinions on such matters as eating disorders in society and especially the entertainment industry. She has also worked feverishly to support countries hit by disasters like Haiti and Pakistan and encourages everyone to do their part for as long as they can.
Zara believes in exercising the mind and body, and eating cookies in between doing service to others. Her list of talents and achievements will no doubt continue to grow, as well as the work of the author of her life story.
