My Name is Nata. The idea behind my designs is to merge creative pattern cutting and storytelling into one. Most of fabrics used in my garments are self made and hand dyed; they are manipulated and cut to create a visual story. This way of designing ties to my overall philosophy in fashion design, which is to interchange and merge together sculpture, storytelling, laser technology and fine tailoring into one. Today, designing and making a garment for me is like writing a story or a poem, where the rhyme is colour and fabric; the details are the cut, styling and accessories. I believe, like most writers, designers are redeemers; they want to bring you closer to beauty, to spell out a meaning, a way, a salvation. You put something on, you define yourself. You become fictional. While creating a garment I try to create a belief that fiction is real. I am on my last year of Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
