Changed out a few photos today 1/15/2013
Currently I am doing very little shooting because my "day job" consumes so much of my time. Because of my limited time, if I do a shoot right now it needs to be either be profitable (a good paid shoot) or add something great to my portfolio (a productive TFP/TFCD shoot.)
I do like to sit down and have a consultation with a model a few days before we shoot. I just want to make sure that we are both on the same page and want to plan in advance any outfits, styles, settings, props, and ideas. New ideas will surface as we begin to shoot, but having some direction up front usually makes our shooting time more productive. Also since you don't know me, meeting up front can help to build up a little more of a comfort level and will make the start of the shoot more productive.
My approach to photography is a little bit different. Everybody believes that they are a photographer. There are too many people out there in the world today who take poor quality pictures and then cover it all up by photoshopping the picture to death. I believe in real photography. I like to take the time to get the photo right in the first place. Don’t get me wrong, Photoshop is a great tool, but in my opinion should only be used to lightly touch up photos at the end. I probably take a little bit longer to conduct a photo shoot than the average photographer, but in the end, I think you will agree that it is worth it. If we are going to go through the trouble of shooting, I like to use multiple outfits and possibly a location change as well. Please plan on at least two to three hours if you would like to shoot with me. I have been known to run a lot longer if the model and I are both feeling like the shoot is productive.
