Hi and thanks for stopping by my Model Mayhem site!
Please see a lot more of my work on my "Images by A.J." Facebook page (linked above). Hopefully, my work speaks for itself and should give you a pretty good idea of whether or not you’d like to discuss a shoot.
Athletic models, please note I have considerable experience with, and am very interested in, shooting motocross and equestrian themed shoots (please see my "Motocross Images by A.J." Facebook page). I'm talking about actual MX racers in MX gear on their bikes, not pin-up stuff; for the horse shoots, I'm looking for models who ride (English or Western).
As an aspiring playwright, I'm also interested in working with performing artists. If you're a serious stage actor or live performer, I'll do head shots on a TF basis throughout the first half of 2013.
I will only do TF shoots with very well established, experienced models, or if I believe you are an excellent model for a specific project (for example, if you are an MX racer or equestrian).
Please contact me to discuss my rates (which I believe are very reasonable and competitive).
I will NOT shoot nudes, implied nudes, lingerie, swimsuit, erotic, or fetish. I have no problem with these genres, but they're just not my thing as a photographer.
***IMPORTANT: Models under 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. I will ask for photo identification to confirm your age.
NOTE: Most of the time, I work with my wife, Dawn, who is an excellent photographer (www.dawnrsmith.com). Dawn may not always participate as a photographer; she may serve as a creative director (which she is also very good at).
WHAT I EXPECT FROM MODELS: When we're setting up the details of our shoot, please communicate with me in a timely and professional manner. Ask questions. Share your ideas. Please show up at our agreed location at our agreed time. Arrive prepared. Behave professionally. Escorts (who will not interfere or distract) are absolutely welcome (they can even be helpful). If you cannot meet these expectations, please do not ask or agree to work with me.
What models can expect from me: I will show up on time at our agreed location. I will behave professionally at all times. I will provide professional quality digital images in a very timely manner.
A word about FRIENDS and TAGS: I don't see MM as a social networking site, but as a professional networking site. As such, I don't see much value in adding a bunch of friends who aren’t in the Pittsburgh region and who aren’t doing work aligned with what I am doing; so, please don't be offended if I don't add you as a friend. I think the best way to communicate about possible photo shoots or other photography-related issues is through the message system (not tags).
Any model I have listed as a Top 12 friend is someone I have worked with, consider reliable and professional--someone I would recommend to other photographers.
