A UK fashion and commercial photographer or many, many years experience recently transplanted from the UK and Arizona to California. Seeking commercial and fashion clients (and an agent) in California.
Experience in Editorial, Commercial, Fashion, and also motor sports. I see many models out there who could benefit from creative image making and pro level retouching.
Love this quote from Anthony Neste on ModelMayhem "Good work isn't usually free and free work usually isn't good".
Models, being a photographer is a seriously expensive business! I invest more money than I should in cameras and lighting, are you all aware that the latest digital cameras cost upwards of $6K?
So this is why I (we photographers) can get a little 'techy' when models with no experience demand payment! If you have real aspirations of being a professional model please think a little and YOUR image. Check out the photographers work in great detail. If you see things you like then it might be worth collaborating with that photographer and getting some really GOOD images rather than a few dollars and images that are useless; blurry out of focus, taken by someone who doesn't understand light, exposure, aperture etc.
While I am on the subject, there are a few 'rules' for models which personally I don't like very much but there they are. I could be wrong of course but...
Generally if you're under about 5' 10" and over 20 you're not going to make it as a runway model! There are, of course, some exceptions... well one so if you're NOT Kate Moss, you might think about another line of business. Now if you're around 5' 8" you CAN make a very good living as a commercial model. So just think on it and, again, do your homework!
If you've read all this and you STILL want to work with me, please bring me your ideas! I LOVE to collaborate - I think I mentioned that somewhere!
There is a totally seperate art and science to editing and re-touching images. I won't publish an image of you that has not been examined and re-touched where *I* think is necessary. I prefer to collaborate with models as I realize that it is OUR joint image which is being presented to the world!
Rules (of Acquisition) aka How to Get a Shoot:
I will do TFP! I'm happy to if it'll add something to both our profiles but I am also very happy to shoot with an aspiring model who wants to get experience. Remember my experience is very heavily fashion and commercial. I very, very rarely shoot anything else.
I have no problem with escorts. I live in the 21st Century and I know that if you feel more secure with an escort that is fine with me. After all you're going to be more relaxed on set if you're feeling comfortable and also *I* prefer to meet with you pre-shoot if possible to discuss the shoot and a pre-shoot 'meet 'n' greet' is preferable to first meeting at the shoot!
