Biography
Director, choreographer and performer Samantha Diaz is one of the finest dancers from her hometown Lima, Peru. During her early years, Samantha trained in different styles such as Samba, Flamenco, Hip-Hop and Modern Dance. In 2002, Samantha arrived in the United States settling in NYC, where she would soon begin choreographing and performing at venues like the Showtime at the Apollo Theater, the United Nations, the Bollywood Music Awards, the CW11 News and more.
In 2004, Samantha created Dance Soul Company, a dance troupe dedicated to creating fusions of different dance styles. By combining the traditions of Middle East culture, the Gypsy Flamenco elegance, and her natural roots and veins of Latin Dance, Samantha and her troupe have transformed the art of Belly Dance. Add to this a beautiful mix of charisma and mastery of original artistic body moves, and it's easy to see why Samantha is one of the hottest choreographers and dancers around today
