My name is Adrian and I go by the name “Ade” (or A.D.E.), a nick-name given by a dear friend of mine from Ireland, which I still use today. I am a free-lance makeup artist, photographer as well as a retoucher.
My full-time occupation is centered on numbers and what they mean to the people who are interested in them but during my spare time, I indulge in my favourite pastime, which is photography and photo-retouching.
As a child, I enjoyed drawing, painting and making all kinds of handicrafts and getting myself all messy and dirty, which I still do! I am always fascinated by all things beautiful, such as, architecture, fashion and design as well as fine works of art by famous and celebrated artists. I draw my inspiration from music - it sets the pace and mood for my work.
Although I did not choose photography as a profession, it remains my strongest passion and allows me to explore my creativity. With the advent of modern technology, I am able to “digitally” draw and colour with the help of Adobe Photoshop – something less messy and dirty!
However, it was a course in fashion and bridal make-up that enabled me to perfect my skills in photo-editing/re-touching, as well as appreciating the beauty and flaws of the human physique. Make-up is no different from painting except that the skin is my canvas.
Through make-up, photography and photo-editing/re-touching, I also understand the importance of proper lighting in a sitting to achieve the desired outcome and recently I started experimenting with both natural and studio lighting with reasonable success.
Being versatile (a make-up artist, a photographer and a photo-retoucher - all rolled into one) allows me to envisage the end result with confidence. Like many of the photographers on MM, I choose to specialize in the male physique as featured in my collection of fashion and artistic nudes.
If you happen to be in town and are interested to collaborate and help build my portfolio, please leave me a note here.
See you around!
