Hello and thanks for taking a look at some of my work.

It's all about character and story...

I have met many amazing people who help me continue practicing this profession. I believe that models with no experience and stage performers are a photgrapher's best kept secret. Perhaps I'll have the opportunity to meet people like you and continue the journey through styles, places, and characters that entice the world's viewers and voyeurs.


Working together.


A shoot starts with your desire to come to this studio. The only way to work with me is to contact me and set a date. I do not proactively request shoots.

There are some images that generate income for either you or for me. These require different exchanges of money, and I am NOT here to work in these professions:

- Headshots for actors
- Clean perfect fashion images for models
- All the flavors of adult entertainment

The next issue is that I have rented a working studio in NY, it's not cheap, but if I'm having a good week I can find time for an extra shoot.

If you have $120 for a session, then I have a professional environment, delivery within three days of finished images complete with usage rights, and no guesswork on my part. I can promise three distinct looks.

Ted D'Ottavio not only has technical prowess behind a camera, but an innate sense of the subject's personality and character that helps make a photo original and exciting.  He has great ideas that he joyfully helps the model execute to perfection, but also is a wonderful collaborator and easy to work with.  During the editing process, I have also noticed in him a keen eye for the winning photograph in a page of thumbnails.  I have worked with Ted on three different shoots, the results of which are already published or en route to online and print magazines and I highly recommend snatching up this photographer right now before it's impossible to book him.

I came to Ted with a strong desire to step away from the 40's - 60's era pin up photo's I typically do.  Inspired by 70's pin ups and fashion photography, he nailed the aesthetic completely!  I'm thrilled with the results!  Ted was a pleasure to work with and  I look forward to doing it again!

Ted is amazing. Not only will you walk in and be treated like royalty, but on set he makes you feel like a movie star! And the pictures you walk away with surely prove it. I would recommend him to anyone!
