I'm Katy, a makeup artist working around southern California. I trained in beauty and fashion makeup at Cinema Makeup School.

My work ethic is strong and dedicated to doing the best job I can for clients and for myself. I am meticulously hygienic and have an excellent eye for color coordination.

I'm always working to expand my portfolio and gain professional experiences, therefore, I am open to selective testing with experienced, outstanding photographers and models who share my creative interests. Please note the following, if you’d like to work with me:

Photoshoots: My main interests are in editorial, commercial and beauty (both clean/natural and creative), so I’m more likely to test for these genres. You are welcome to inquire about boudoir, pin-up or fetish for my half or full day rates. I’m not opposed to those shoots, however, I’m not likely to use those types of images in my portfolio. I will give consideration to projects being submitted for publication, whatever the genre, so please do contact me for those opportunities.

Testing: You absolutely must be able to benefit my portfolio with images that are equal to or better than what I already have and you must be willing to provide high resolution, printable size/quality images that have had basic and necessary editing done! I am particular about details such as stray hairs or smudges on the background and I'd prefer to work with photographers who are just as thorough when cleaning up images. Your retouching must be subtle and minimal. I'd like to be able to choose at least 5-6 of my favorite images (per model) for my print portfolio and for use on my website; these images need to be free of watermarks! For images being used on social sites (MM, FB), I am fine with your watermark, if it's not plastered over a prominent part of the image. It would be great if I could preview and choose images through a set up like Dropbox or SmugMug.*

This year, I am very focused on getting the types of images my portfolio lacks and/or that which will give me more experience in areas I'd like to specialize in. For the next 3-4 months (until about June/July), I will only be testing for beauty, male makeup, commercial and editorial style images and bridal (either real or mock shoots).

Fashion Shows: I can be booked for a flat rate.

Filming/Videos: I can be booked for my half or full day rates and kit fee.

Hair: I am not a hair stylist and will not play that roll for free! For the sake of good grooming, I will comb hair and make sure it’s placed to be flattering. When possible though, a hair stylist should be brought in to do what they do and love, so that I can focus on doing what I do and love. That said, I do have a fully equipped kit of styling tools and products, however, hair is a separate job for which I always charge.

*About 80ish% of the time, I will request my fiance be able to stick around for test shoots. He's my ride, since I don’t have wheels of my own. I won't have him chauffeur me around then get lost. If his presence is an issue, that’s unfortunate. He’s quiet, friendly and stays out of the way, unless you ask for his help, to which he’d gladly volunteer. If this truly is an issue due to a small work space or a long work day, we can work something out, as long as I know ahead of time.
