WHAT'S BEEN SAID ABOUT ME:
“I have met few people in the AZ art scene who didn’t strike me as being pretentious wankers. Wayne is a beacon of light. Seriously. Most of the people in this scene just pat themselves on the back congratulating themselves for getting themselves noticed. It's a f***ing Academy Awards show without the f***ing Solid Gold dancers... Wayne Michael Reich just pisses you off for speaking the truth as he sees it.” - Tate Hemlock, Photographer "The dude is PASSIONATE and cares about local culture, and I'd wish more people in town felt as strongly as he does. And regardless of what you think of the man or his work, Reich f**king cares Like I said earlier, if you’re looking for trash talk, Artbitch is much more adept at dishing it out than I am. I leave it to the experts." - Ashley Naftule, Former Writer for The PHX New Times "Refreshing to hear someone speaking their mind and burning a torch for their arts community. That's always dangerous in flip flops. Rock on.." - Leith O'Malley, Australian Artist, http://www.leithomalley.com "And what would you do without a Wayne Michael Reich? Admit it, you'd miss his snarky attitude. Truth be told, he's the last snark standing in downtown phoenix. Yes Wayne. you are the hamburger helper of the downtown art scene." - Peter Petrisko, PHX. Artist & Writer "Whenever i have time to read one of his ramblings i love to. i think Wayne is great, his art is great and his opinions are usually pretty great too." -Ryan Avery, Star of independent documentary, "Hi My Name is Ryan" "But this movie has one thing that makes it really pop like none other. Not just a solid protagonist, it has a bona fide antagonist. Wayne Michael Reich is an established "serious" artist on the Phoenix scene. He makes an excellent villain, and makes this an excellent, hilarious film." - Review of "Hi, My Name is Ryan" by http://www.jasonwatchesmovies.com "Your a great writer. Hunter s. Thompson of the desert. F***in awesome." -Luis Daniel Gutierrez, PHX. Artist "He has the intensity of a young Nick Cave" -Bryn Corbett, PHX. Artist "Speaking of New Times, nobody kept ‘em on their toes like WMR. Snarky? Yes. Well-written? Indeed. Every city needs an Artbitch, and this is yours." - From http://www.azKaos.com: "Five Notable PHX Blogs" “You are a saint for paying attention to all of your fellow Phoenician brothers and sisters and challenging us. If you aren't a saint, a monster, or a bogeyman, then you are a great devil's advocate or muckraker...” - Aaron Johnson of Lawn Gnome Publishing "For the most part, I find Wayne Michael Reich to have one of the only tolerable philosophies of art in Phoenix- and while I may not always agree with his particular mode of expressing it (saturnalianly venomous), I find more and more that his attitude, regardless of presentation, is one of the few I find meaningful. In fact, during the whole censorship-at-the-chaos-theory-show fiasco, Wayne seemed like the only other sane person in Phoenix- a refreshing change of tone from the mob." - Kevin Flanagan, PHX Performance Artist ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ALL IMAGES POSTED ARE COPYRIGHT PROTECTED AND MAY NOT BE USED, COPIED OR MODIFIED WITHOUT EXPRESSED WRITTEN CONSENT. (and yes, this does mean you.) BEFORE sending me a job or friend request , PLEASE READ the following, thank you. AN IMPORTANT NOTE: I RARELY SHOOT MEN, so if there is the need for me to hire a male model, I already have a list- sending me friend requests is kinda pointless, as you will NOT be added. This also applies to photo retouchers as well. Ever. So please don't waste my time and yours. ------------------------------------------------------------- Hello potential clients, models and friends! I'm an artist and photographer who is looking to expand both my style and my body of work. I shoot several different series, and am looking for a varying range of models. My style has been favorably compared to both Robert Mapplethorpe (without the inherent strangeness) and Peter Lindbergh. While the majority of my work does involve semi/full nudity, it is NOT required to work with me- I am always open to a model's input and ideas. If you want to do a test shoot to work out a concept, call me! I have MUA contacts if you don't, and have no problem with escorts, as long as they don't interfere with the creative process. I always have a meeting with my models before I shoot. This gives me an idea of what they are like and it lets them get to know me a bit before shooting together. Now for the fine print- At the moment, I offer compensation ONLY IN THE FORM OF TFCD OR PROFIT SHARING from sales of the Images. The bulk of my work is displayed in art galleries, but I have a few private collectors along with some commercial contacts whose interests I cater to. As an incentive to TFP models, you have FULL non-profit usage rights of the Images that would be created, so if you like my work- please email me at: [email protected] to discuss setting up a shoot. If you send me a friend request or are responding to a casting bulletin and are not approved / contacted, please do not send email after email asking me why- this is not High School. I am here to make a living and do good work. If I don't contact you, it will most likely be due to at least one of the following three points: 1) I can't use you for the type of work that I do. 2) I don't like the work that you have done. 3) You live in an area that I will never travel to. For instance? North Dakota- It's too cold, too large, and way too close to South Dakota. For a more comprehensive view of my range of work, please visit the following: http://www.WayneMichaelReich.com, where you can easily link to all of my artistic endeavors. Thank you, Wayne Michael Reich Verified Credits (0)Worked with Wayne Michael Reich? Share your experience and become verified! Add CreditsCredit Notes

Inspired by the artistic influence of the 1980's New Wave movement, his unique one-off Pop Art paintings have earned him the respect and an unusually fierce loyalty among his dedicated base of collectors and patrons. His photographic works stem from his personal belief that the overuse of Photoshop and other electronic rendering techniques is a sign of being a digital artist- not a photographer. "Get it in the camera, not off a disc." is his credo. With over 150 shows under his belt, he has strongly established himself (In the words of The Phoenix New Times) as a "provocative photographer whose work encompasses the spectra from the wholesome to the kinky". His ongoing series of architectural studies of Downtown Phoenix, garnered some of the highest praise of his career after an August 2006 show at PHX City Hall, and is being formed into a book project. Currently, Wayne is working on 3 new shows: "RetroPOP", "1485", and "Shaming of the Shrew". ----------------------------------------------------------- >Private commissions are available- inquire by email with the word "Commissions" in the title line.< ----------------------------------------------------------- Artist's Statement: "Artists are the people among us who realize that creation didn't stop on the sixth day." - Joel-Peter Witkin SELECTED EXHIBITION LIST:: 2000 October / Blue / Absolut Art Gallery, Scottsdale December / Two Faced / Absolut Art Gallery, Scottsdale 2002 July / Summer in Paris / Absolut Art Gallery, Scottsdale September / IOCC Auction / Absolut Art Gallery, Scottsdale October / Day of The Dead / Absolut Art Gallery, Scottsdale December / Abstractions / LUX, Phoenix 2003 January / Windows / The Willow House, Phoenix July / Moment / The Willow House, Phoenix August / Annual Photography Show / The Paper Heart, Phoenix September / Masque / Amsterdam, Phoenix 2004 January / Masque / The Willow House, Phoenix February / Masque / Urbana Productions, Phoenix February / In Black & White / Calamus Resort, Phoenix March / Art Detour / Urbana Productions, Phoenix March / Art Detour / Paulina Miller Gallery, Phoenix May / New Works / Cone Gallery, Phoenix June / New Works / Portland's, Phoenix November / Art Lounge / The Jungle Cabaret, Phoenix December / Masque V.2 / Cone Gallery, Phoenix 2005 January / Sex,Drugs,Rock N'Roll / The Paper Heart, Phoenix January / PHX.
