My name is Denise Houk. I am a photographer/ graphic artist and I am also a painter. I started doing fantasy photoshop work for painting references and then they became works of art on their own. When I was in high school I did black and white photography but I never dreamed it would become what it is now. You can see more of my work on facebook.

I live on 90 acres in the mountains north of Sacramento on a collective called the Poo Frog Ranch. We are a nonprofit that supports the arts. If you are interested in working on a collaborative project please contact us on facebook.

There are many scenic places on the property and off including many rivers and lakes and old growth forests. Most of my work is shot in these mountains. If you would like to shoot here please contact me also. For most of my photos, the background is real. Here is one of the places I like to shoot at.
I am also a costume designer/seamstress. I have an extensive "closet" of obscure clothing and make most of the costumes you see in my work. My background in costume design comes from designing costumes for Renaissance fairs in the 90's.
