About Me

*Recently returned to MM and portrait photography. I'm taking TF shoots to rebuild my portfolio!

Hi there!

I'm a writer and photographer currently based in Ottawa, ON specializing in editorial and travel photography.

Once upon a time, I was a professional portrait photographer but gave it up to travel the world. I'm a little rusty (probably), and am looking to update my portfolio and connect with models, stylists and trade professionals in the Ottawa area.

-Standard portraiture
(Looking for groups of 2+ to flesh out group setups.)

-Ad / Editorial

-Themed shoots
(If you've got an idea, pitch it to me and see what happens.)

-Acting & Headshots
(Could use a few males, but don't need many females. Already got a ton of those.)

-Performance (Dance / Stunts / Fitness / etc.)
(If you're one of those cool people with talent, I'd love to set something up with you.)

Got an idea? I'm pretty open minded. Feel free to reach out and let me know what you're thinking about.

-Extreme retouching
-Anything remotely considered NSFW (unless it's super-tasteful)

Shoots with me are pretty laid back, but I understand if you want company*. I'm punctual (and expect you to be the same), and will likely be on location early to check conditions for the shoot. Plan for the entire shoot to take about an hour unless otherwise specified.

Though I have the equipment, I rarely shoot studio. I much prefer to take advantage of unique surroundings than a white background or green screen.

I DO like remote locations (forests, swamps, hiking trails), so for any shoot be prepared to walk a bit. Make sure that you have attire, makeup, and gear to will accommodate the environment. Bug spray might not smell great, but it makes focusing much easier. I usually recommend wearing flats or comfortable shoes and carrying the shoes you'll want for the shoot in a bag. High heels don't do well in the woods.

After the shoot, expect your images within two weeks. It's super rare that it takes that long, but that's a maximum.

*Escort / protection / friends are okay, so long as they don't interfere with the shoot.
(Extra points if your buddy wants to be in the photos, or wants to help me lug the lights around.)

Questions? Ask!

If you're new to modeling, TF* typically stands for "time for x", where "x" is usually prints or images.

After you shoot with me, you'll get a link to a Dropbox folder so that you can download the processed images. Once I know you've got them, I'll close out that link to save space.

Because this is a TF* shoot and I may use the images for portfolio features and self promotion, a model release IS required prior to shooting. I'll also have a release for you allowing the images to be reprinted or used for your own purposes (and you can always reach out if a print shop gives you trouble).
