About MeMy name is “DJ Jarak” Wysocki and I am a Phoenix, AZ based freelance photographer, photo manipulator and graphic designer.
I have approximately 20 years of experience in portrait photography, 10 years of experience as a conceptual photographer and 5 years as a beauty and editorial photographer, which I now use quite often since I founded Strange Beauty Magazine in January of 2014. Visit the site and learn more about it.
Before I began my career as a photographer in Buffalo, NY, I was exclusively a photo manipulation artist and graphic web designer, which I continue to do today as a compliment to my photography services. In the beginning, I only started using a camera to avoid being limited to stock and donated photos for my art of choice. After a few years of clicking away, I was offered my first paid photography gigs. The first was a series of promo shoots for a traveling carnival called Fun City Shows. The second was one whopper of a surprise. It was none other than Jared the Galleria of Jewelry.
Since I began my career in 1995, I have worked with over 300 models, 25 companies and have been published by 12 separate companies and magazines, which include LA Weekly and my first big client, Jared.
Being a photographer and artist allows me to meet interesting people and learn new things about myself each and every single day. I also pride myself with being a clique and genre diplomat. I both belong and don’t. This allows me to meet and know all kinds of people without being categorically tied down to any of them unless I wish to be. It’s a wonderful thing.
While I am based out of Phoenix, AZ, I am available for travel if properly compensated with a deposit. Digital services (digital art and graphic design) are available to anyone, anywhere in the world as they don’t require on-location work. We can also arrange video chat meetings via Skype or remote access sessions via TeamViewer upon request.
✔A 50% deposit is required before I can book a photo session with you or begin work on your project. The deposit is non-refundable. This protects me against flakes and last second cancellations. No exceptions. If you cannot afford the deposit, I cannot trust you to be a reliable client. If you are more than 20 minutes late to our meet-up without contacting me, you may consider it officially cancelled. Also, I will ask that you are no more than 15 minutes early.
✔I will allow escorts, but please, keep it under three (3), not including yourself. If you arrive with more people than I’m prepared to deal with, it could be a problem.
✔If you require a creative team (make-up, hair, etc.), that can be provided, but it will cost extra. My on-staff make-up artist/hair stylist is Susie Von Slaughter. She is experienced and very talented.
✔Do not contact me asking for paid work. I’m not an employer. If you contact me, that means you are in need and must be willing to pay for my services. I am a professional with bills to pay.
✔I may be the Editor-in-Chief of Strange Beauty Magazine, but please do not assume that photos I take of you will automatically be published. It may happen on occasion and if I think you fit an the upcoming theme, I will ask for your permission as a courtesy.
After you have approved the processed marked images and pay the remaining 50%, you will receive your full size work within 24-48 hours via e-mail. They will be print size so you may print them at your leisure. I suggest Vista Print for the best results and price.
