Hello there... my name is Ethelin Ekwa . Call me krysty. I go to The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I am majoring in Photography, which goes to say i am still a student at this. I am still learning new techniques. However, don't let that fool you, my work speaks for its self. i have been behind the camera for 6 years and have gained experience and know-how. I have been shooting nature/street/commercial/head shots for 6 years and started portraiture/editorial/tears 4 years ago.
----------------------Without Skin-------------------------
In my without skin album, i am trying to show the human form; bare, natural and without "skin" or layers. Call it what you may. I am trying to evoke emotions.
I feel the need to put up an artist statement for that album because i got a comment (which i deleted because i thought it was stupid) asking me why the pictures were in an album called "without skin" when everything is about skin. I felt sorry that this person is one of the few artists who still thinks inside the box. When i say "without skin", i mean "BARE" "NO LAYERS".
Try to think out side the box.
CURRENT PROJECTS:
- Currently seeking a female model with an antique birdcage for a project. I will disclose more about the project when you contact me and i decide i want to shoot with you.

CANCELLATIONS:
Things do come up, unfortunate events do happen and i understand. That being said, i will reschedule a shoot with you ONCE. If you intend to cancel, i need at least a day's notice. I WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU AGAIN IF YOU CANCEL/FLAKE A SECOND TIME. I take this seriously and i hope you do as well.
RATES:
My rates are very reasonable and negotiable. I aim to please. I am a photographer not for the money but for the love of it, but since bills need paid, i offer a wide range of options when it comes to pricing:
1 Hour = $150
2 Hours = $200
3 Hours = $250
4 Hours = $300
5 Hours = $350
Day Rate = $700
Charity/ Non-profit work = $200 (Day rate)
Weddings = $600
( Rates do not include traveling expenses )
Make up can be provided at an additional $ 50 Initial fee and $25 per change of make up.

MY STYLE:
I am all over the place. Why limit myself to one genre? I am a chameleon in life and it shows in my work. However i LOVE editorial...all kinds of editorial; fashion /journalistic you name it.
I work with natural lights and i love to experiment with natural light.I sometimes shoot in the studio where i use both soft and hard lights and sometimes strobes. Most of my concepts are summer/spring/fall based. I don't do a lot of outdoor work in the winter months, just studio work. I do not have a major production crew that follows me around. When on a shoot with me, it will mostly be outdoors or on location, i feel i can add a personal touch and develop a relationship with my model that way. It is just the model and i, though i would love to collab with stylists and other artists.
I tend to favor shoots with an artistic subject line though i do not limit my work to those. If you have an idea that isn't artistic, don't hesitate to share with me.
Models with some to a lot of experience are always wanted. I do not work well with amateurs as i don't like to coach during my sessions. If you know how to make love to the camera and the camera agrees with you, then we should work together.
However, if it is my concept, be ready to rock all the crazy poses i will throw your way. I love absurdity and the bizarre. I like intricate poses. So be prepared! :-)
BIO:
I hail from the Pittsburgh, PA area where i am a professional artist (painter/poet/Author). I am a curator/organizer of local art/music events in the Pittsburgh area. I am a writer. I have published two chapbooks and in the middle of writing my third.
Photography has always been a love of mine and i took it up as a profession in 2004 when i realized how many of my friends wanted me to help them with their portfolios. I have been working in the entertainment industry for 4 years, taking promotional pictures of bands /musicians and actors.
I work with a Canon EOS Rebel 400 XTI Digital and a Canon EOS Rebel X Film.
(should have a Canon 50D by next yr)
