Los Angeles-based Makeup Artist Mathias Alan is extremely talented, passionate, and ambitious about his craft! With 15 years experience in the fashion, beauty, and entertainment industries, Mathias has painted gorgeous faces for the red carpet, television hosts, and commercial talent. He has also choreographed runway shows, hosted make up seminars and infomercials, and led runway makeup teams.
Starting out as a performer, he became interested in painting during high school and always had an addiction to reading fashion magazines as well as being inspired by the careers of music video icons such as Madonna, Boy George, Cyndi Lauper, and Annie Lennox. Early on he spent time in Las Vegas collaborating with some of the most amazing showgirls and female impersonators in this country. This is where he fell in love with the art of makeup, illusion and artifice. To paint on "the face" was much more rewarding and "alive"! With an eye for color theory, painting, and skills in blending on canvas, he learned how to accomplish the theatrical fantasy art of makeup styles like the "Cirque Du Soleil" performers. He eventually developed an appreciation and skill in the softer commercial type used primarily in look books, catalogs, and print campaigns. Mathias is also highly skilled in the art of airbrush, and is available to do light hair. From one extreme of beauty to another, Mathias can truly do it all.
Based on the philosophy that the “best tools” gives the artist a greater advantage, Mathias chooses to work with the the following cosmetic lines: COVER FX, MAKE UP FOR EVER, NARS, SMASHBOX, MAC, LAURA MERCIER, and KEVYN AUCOIN.
Although Mathias has built a strong network of photographers, directors, and producers, he remains passionate about developing new creative collaborations with other professionals in the industry.

Currently I'm working on a few shows at Comcast Networks. I am the the personal makeup artist for Joel McHale, host of THE SOUP on E, as well as Danielle Fishel of Style's THE DISH. I also work as a personal groomer for Matt Iseman, from Clean House fame, on a show that E produces for the Versus Network called SPORTS SOUP, and I'm working on a production called WILDEST MOMENTS starring Loni Love as the host. This year alone I've had the opportunity to do Kathy Griffin, Necar Zadegan, Evan Rachel Wood, Ashley Greene, Gabourey Sidibe, Rachel Leigh Cook, Stephanie Pratt, the Kardashians, Allesandra Torresani Eric McCormack, Kendra Wilkinson, and Seth Green.
