My name is David. I am a photographer with over a dozen years of experience. While my primary work is in the San Francisco Bay Area, I travel internationally 2-3 times a year for fashion modeling photo projects. Much of my international work takes place in the Eastern Caribbean - Trinidad, Tobago, and Barbados. I have ongoing partnerships with some very talented designers and models, and a respected academy of fashion and design. I am also an accredited photographer for the Trinidad & Tobago Carnival. I am able to capture some of the most fabulous images during the festivities.
These days much of my photography focuses on modeling portfolios, fashion, and portraiture, though I still do some other types of work for a very select clientele. The design and production of print print and e-portfolios for models and designers is one of my areas of specialty. Because I am very much a perfectionist, I am always driven to produce superior quality work. I regularly use models for projects, and was led to Model Mayhem because several pointed me here for sample images. I decided to join to make it easier to connect with these models.
Where I Work:
Though I have an office in Pittsburg, California, my studio is in Pleasant Hill. I do also have a mobile studio including backdrops, lighting and other professional essentials making it possible to meet where clients wherever they wish. Of course, I do much outdoor shooting as well. I shoot strictly with professional Nikon camera bodies (full frame) and professional grade glass.
The Photo Shoots:
Whether shooting indoors or outdoors, I expect models to be professional. If you find it necessary to bring an "escort," he/she will wait in a waiting area outside the studio. At outdoor locations, he/she will not be allowed to engage in any part of the shoot either. If your escort is disruptive in any way, the shoot will be cancelled and both of you will be asked to leave. As a photographer, I always have at least one female assistant on hand. Models are always treated with respect.
My Current Rates:
Naturally, my service is not free. But I do trades (TF) from time to time if the model shows promise and his/her images can be used well in my promotions. Visit the pricing section of my website, www.photosophistry.com
, for my going rates. However, I am offering courtesy rates to MM members.
$190 flat rate for up to a 2-hour studio or outdoor shoot with 2-3 outfits
$290 flat rate for up to a 4-hour studio or outdoor shoot with 5 outfits
$100 flat rate for up to a 1-hour studio or outdoor shoot with 2 outfits
Basic retouched images are provided on a flash drive drive or CD within 5 working days. A smaller sampling of professionally retouched images are provided from a web selection.
I'm looking forward to forming partnerships with models, makeup artists, and even performing artists. I am also building partnerships for a Caribbean modeling junket I'm planning for February 2013, during the Carnival season.
