Joe Niem is a photographer, filmmaker, graphic/web designer and art director based in the San Francisco Bay Area. His work has appeared in publications ranging from Juxtapoz, Thrasher, Famous Monsters of Filmland, East Bay Express, San Francisco Bay Guardian, SF Weekly, to San Jose Metro, and his list of clients include Fantagraphics Books, Chronicle Books, Sub Pop, Alternative Tentacles and Interscope Records. Recent exhibitions of work have been at "SuperTrash" (Andy Warhol Museum), "Solitary Pleasures" (Slought Foundation, alongside Marcel Duchamp, Carolee Schneemann, Peter Weibel and VALIE EXPORT) and "Sexytime"(Horse Hospital, UK).
My rates for photo or video assignments will vary depending on the nature and size of the job. Photo retouching and restoration services also available. I have extensive experience in this area and a portfolio can be provided upon request.
