"You know what the problem with Hollywood is?
They make crap. Unbelievable, unremarkable, unexceptional crap. Everyone is afraid to try something new, or someone new, so instead we get remakes like Ocean's 11, 12, (and now 13), King Kong, The Manchurian Candidate, War of the Worlds, Evan the Almighty, The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Eyes of Laura Mars, Get Smart?
Now I'm not some grungy wannabe photographer/filmmaker that's searching for existentialism through a haze of bong smoke or something. No, it's easy to pick apart bad acting, short-sighted directing, typical editorial or glamour poses we see today on every other magazine cover on a daily basis, or a purely moronic stringing together of unrelated words that many people therefore interpret as "prose".
No, I'm talking about the lack of realism, the lack of creativity, and the total lack of taking risks to create art or to narrate or associate an idea, or a concept. Realism and Creativity; not pervasive elements in today's modern cinematic visions or within the entertainment, advertising and fashion industry for that matter now are they?
Now, i don't know if you will ever call any of my work art, or that it narrates your concept to the masses, or even agree that it's a satire in some cases, and you may not even like it, but it'll be different, and it'll be created purely for the sake of artistic expression and interpretation, and not purely to make a profit for myself."
