Starting out as an oil painter, I picked up a camera simply to have my own references for paintings. The further I got into the editing process of turning a picture into a usable media for my paintings, the more I became interested in perfecting the picture itself. I found that I could transform a simple digital photo into a work of art that would rival anything I could do with brush on canvas. While continuing to paint on large scale canvas, photography has become my preferred outlet of artistic expression. The painting techniques learned over a lifetime form the critical base of my photos that would otherwise be lacking from a simple digital image. Ever changing as I move into this career and learning with every photo, I am excited at the prospect of what I am able to create as my techniques evolve. Focused on individual art pieces with a touch of surreal, I am not concerned with mass producing digital images. The finished look of my photos have a more animated quality...I like to edit like I like to paint.
I don't check my MM account very often. Feel free to look me up on FB.
