About me
Danish born Katrine Lieberkind discovered her passion for makeup at an early age. At 14 she began working in a store selling cosmetics and skincare. While earning a college degree in marketing Katrine got in touch with the fashion industry. She immediately launched her freelance career in Copenhagen working with designers, magazines, TV, film and music videos.
After relocating to Los Angeles Katrine learned special effects makeup at Joe Blasco’s makeup school in Hollywood. This allows her to incorporate advanced techniques from the motion picture makeup into her work in fashion. Katrine recently applied baldcaps for a shoot for Harper’s Bazaar (Chinese issue) shot by the legendary photographer David LaChapelle with whom Katrine had the pleasure to work several times.
Mentored by renowned makeup artist Billy B Katrine assisted on editorials for international magazines such as Vogue, ELLE and Harper’s Bazaar and commercials for Dior and Bebe just to mention a few.
When her schedule permits she teaches classes in makeup application and mentors upcoming makeup artists as well.
Always hard working, dedicated and with a smile Katrine has worked on numerous music videos for talents including Lady Gaga, Jenifer Lopez, Pink, Keri Hilson, Kylie Minogue and Leona Lewis and Elton John.
” I get inspiration from the talent I am so lucky to meet both the people in front of and behind the camera as well as on the street. I also learned a lot from teaching; I believe we are all students for life” Katrine explains.
