Nick was born in Detroit in 1970 and moved with his family to Southern California when he was six. Growing up in SoCal in the 70’s, Nick quickly became involved in Skateboarding, Surfing, BMX, Motocross and the like... Action was what he craved! Southern California was growing too fast and Nick’s father moved the family to Lake Tahoe, Nevada, where he wanted to raise the family in a small mtn. town community.
All along Nick, was inspired by his Uncle Dushan, a photographer for Ford Motor Company, since the 1950’s and gave Nick his first photography book. He got his first camera system in high school and has been photographing ever since. After college, he started as an apprentice to the leading automotive, fashion, celebrity and product photographers in the country and abroad.
Nick transitioned from assisting into shooting for several commercial studios and later, was selected as one of three Photographers for General Motors Design. There he had the opportunity to photograph future and current vehicles along with some of the top automotive executives in the industry. Nick has since moved on to photograph independently and works out of 1880 Studios in Troy, Michigan, where he continues to expand his portfolio. Currently, he is shooting model comps, environmental portraits and is working on a "Pin Up" series! Which, is why his profile is here on Model Mayhem... So, if your looking to expand your modeling portfolio and want to work with Nick, on some of his upcoming projects, just give him a shout! Nick’s experience is extensive... Drawing on this experience and blending a style of commercial and documentary, Nick’s passion for emotion and eye for detail transcends into all his images. Whether, it be a day at the skate park photographing his son, three days in the studio lighting a car set, or designing a tour bus wrap for a music label, Nick put’s his heart and soul into it!
