Hey, my name is Ross and thanks for visiting my port.
For many years I have been a Landscape/Nature photographer and I'm lucky enough to have won many awards but in 2012 I switched to Fine Art Portrait and Nude Photography and I guess you'd want to know why the change??
Well, I enjoy being with people and I have travelled to the ends of the Earth to experience different cultures. Most importantly, I enjoy Art and I enjoy photographing the Human Form at it's most vulnerable state, naked and in Nature such as dry creek beds, fallen trees, abandoned cottages.
I am not interested in pornography and nor am I interested in glossy pictures straight out of playboy or something like that but I am interested in people who enjoy doing Art.
As a teenager I spent many hours drawing and my sketches were influenced by the American Indian and African Wildlife so you can say that I'm a very grounded and earthy person.
I no longer use pencils to draw though but instead I create my Art using my camera.
I am a professional in more ways than one and professionalism is what I expect from the people who like what I do and wish to work with me.
If possible, I'd like to meet before a shoot, break the ice and most important, to make sure we both feel comfortable with each other.
If we set a date for a shoot, I will expect you to be on time and with ideas on what you want and expect. If for what ever reason you need to cancel then a phone call would be nice and what would be nice is your commitment to the shoot by asking for an other time and day to be set. You cancel twice and that is it for me.
If you decide that you don't need to let me know you're cancelling and doing a disappearing act is your idea of professionalism, then that in itself says a lot about the person...
I treat the people I work with with the outmost respect and I expect to be treated the same. Your input, ideas and suggestions are always encouraged and respected for a shoot is about you as much as it is about me.
The Models that I am looking for need to have a sense of pride in both themselves and what they do. They need to be athletic, muscle tone would be good and they must know they want to get from a shoot. An open mind would be good and so is a sense of adventure. Adventure is about having fun, getting up before the sun rises, laughing at your own mistakes, it’s about just letting go and at the same time letting the world know who you are.
I'd like to think that my photography is about telling a story, the story can be yours or it can be mine but what I like the most is, together, lets tell a story, lets tell or show the world who you are and by that I mean, who you are inside and not just what you look like.
So if you are an artistic and creative person and enjoy creating Art then I'd like to hear from you!
Now, after all that, if you decide that you want to add me as a friend, then please do so because there is something within my portal that you like and I'd like to know what that is. If I receive a friend request and I have no idea who you are, then I will reject it.
