About MeDan Adams, a 2007 graduate of College of the Holy Cross, has gained valuable insight from his many experiences on and off the athletic field. A four year letter winner at Holy Cross (FCS), Dan led the NCAA (FCS) in unassisted tackles in 2005 and set an all time NCAA record (FBS, FCS, DIV II, and Div III) for most unassisted tackles in a game (21).
Dan’s tremendous success playing football as an undersized athlete can be attributed to his inability to succumb to the idea of physical or mental limitations. Following graduation and the end of his collegiate career, Dan participated in the 2007 East Coast Bowl, represented the US National Team in the 2007 IFAF World Championships in Kawasaki, Japan (NFL Network), and competed as a contestant on Season 4 of Pros vs Joes All Stars (SpikeTV).
As athletic opportunities became limited, Dan made the conscious choice to apply the lessons he had learned from the athletic experience to a career in sales for a corporate finance company. Dan’s experience in corporate America allowed him to witness the need for an organization comprised of passionate, accountable, and free thinking leaders willing to make an impact on the job market and within local communities. The organization known as Athletic Capital was founded in August of 2010 through the support of many passionate “heroes” wanting to discover true meaning in life as well as inspire positive change in those around them.
In January of 2012, Athletic Capital led its first international initiative, Mission Kilimanjaro, that made it possible for Kyle Maynard, a quadruple amputee, to reach the 19,341 ft summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro without assistance. The successful attempt by Kyle Maynard and the team set a new World Record and was showcased on various major media outlets including CNN, CBS, FOX, NBC, ABC, ESPN and The Drudge Report. The initiative has had a large scale impact in the veteran and disabled communities, allowing people of all ages and backgrounds to overcome the idea of limitation and take control of the direction of their lives. For more information on this ground breaking initiative that earned Kyle Maynard a 2012 ESPY award, please check out the website, www.MissionKilimanjaro.com.
Dan resides in Atlanta, GA and is currently pursuing acting, modeling, and print to convey powerful messages universal to the human condition.
