#1. The first thing you should know about working with me is that I require a "meet and greet" on neutral territory with all local models.
Why, you ask?
Because it tells me a whole lot about whether I really want to work with you or not. If you can't make it to the meet and greet, then you're flaky and I don't need you. If you can't communicate with me well enough to get the meet and greet accomplished, then you have issues and I don't need you. If you show up to the meet and greet and you don't look anything like your portfolio pics, then I don't need you. If I meet you at the meet and greet and we don't click mentally on one level or another, then I don't need you. BUT, if you manage to schedule and show up to your meet and greet and we get along great, then PERFECT! I just don't want to go into a shoot with a model not knowing anything about him/her. Also, this gives me a chance to show you photos on my laptop to show you the direction I might be headed in for the shoot.
MMers that I've done meet and greets with include:
Kaia Bellanca #441699
Evelyn Byrd #1366135
Amira A #33593
Brian Hilson #357451
Most of the other models you see in my port I met long before we shot together in a bar, at a party, or at an event or something. It's VERY rare that I ever meet a model for the first time at a shoot.
#2. I am a collaborator! Not a dictator! I am not interested in models who just want to show up and be made to look pretty. We work together on this. You should have ideas and suggestions waiting in the cue of your brain. You should have input. And most of all, you should have some inkling of an idea of HOW TO POSE. I cannot and will not tell you how to pose. I will only guide you i.e. "Try this, don't do this, chin up, chin down, look at the camera, look at the light, bring your hands up to your face, turn your shoulders towards me." but I'm not going to pose you like a mannequin. Modeling requires a certain amount of skill. In fact, I used to think that modeling was similar to dance, but recently I've realized it's much more related to ACTING. So think of it that way. If you need inspiration on posing, look at magazines, watch America's Next Top Model, Google it for all I care! Just don't come in without any paint for your palette. Cool?
#3. I am not a creepy stalker wierdo. I will not harass you or hit on you. Yes I'm single and male, but that doesn't mean I can't contain myself. If you want character references feel free to message any of the MMers you see in my gallery.
#4. Escorts. Fine with me. Just as long as they don't slow me down or piss me off. However, I'd prefer that you don't bring them to the meet and greet. It will be held in a public place (usually a coffee shop with internet access) so you don't need to be paranoid. If you do bring an escort to a shoot, please try to bring someone who is going to be HELPFUL.
#5. Always end on a positive note.
I LOVE what I do. I LOVE collaborating. I LOVE meeting new people. I'm a happy, kind, caring person. I will do anything I can to help you and make sure you are happy with our product, even if I have to sacrifice my own pride i.e. remove an image from the web that you are not happy with. Let's all just check our egos at the door, be accountable, and make something beautiful that we can both be proud of.
Thanks!
