About MeRELOCATED TO LOS ANGELES MARCH 2014
Heart Strings Couture is one of a kind, whimsical, and colorful couture. Designs are over the top, detailed and exuberant. Heart Strings Couture is for the optimistic light-hearted girl, who is unique and appreciates a little fantasy.
Heart Strings Couture is currently a one woman show. All designs are designed, drafted, and constructed by me; Jenny Hermalik. I have an almost unhealthy love for all things fashion. Silhouette, color, a shoe, a shoe string… everything gets me excited because it’s the beginning of an idea, a feeling that someone will ultimately have when they wear it, or if you’re like me, just by looking at it. Fit, fabric, flare, any and all of it that contributes to making something that will make someone feel that more fabulous. All I want to do is look at fashion, be around fashion, and create fashion. I love designing for a feeling, for a moment. I love the power of influence through art, not suggestion.
I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Retailing and Consumer Sciences from the Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing in December 2011. While attending the Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing at the University of Arizona, I took Clothing Construction and Draping classes at Pima Community College. Upon obtaining my degree in Retailing and Consumer Sciences, I returned to Pima in the Spring and Fall of 2012 for Flat Pattern and Digital Pattern Making courses.
I am a seasoned local designer. I've participated in Moda Provocateur, Tucson Young Professional's Spring Fashion Shows, and the Fashion's Night Out event this last September organized by Tucson Young Professionals at Playground. My participation in these events has led to inserts in Tucson Lifestyle Magazine, the cover of the March 2012 Fashion issue of Tucson Lifestyle Magazine, Arizona Daily Star, Arizona Weekly, and appearances on local news networks and programs.
