I am a single mother of a beautiful 6-year old daughter. I am a Hooters girl. I have been modeling for 5 years now, and loving life. I work full-time as a Nurse. I love being in front of the camera, it allows me to open up and feel good about myself. I enjoy doing charity events such as 5k's and volunteering my time at Children's National Medical Center. My daughter was recently diagnosed with a Liver Disease which has changed my life completely. I am in the medical field and can handle day to day problems with patients, but when it hits home its completely different. She is currently in treatment at Children's Hospital and will last for a year. It has been a difficult year, but what hasn't killed us, has only made her and I stronger as a team. I live for my daughter and the rest of my life is full of love and growth!
UPDATE ON MY DAUGHTER AUGUST 5, 2007:
Our prayers have been answered!
I just wanted to let everyone know that tonight I will be giving the last shot to Brianna's treatment! We have done it! With 53 injections, over 30 blood works, and lost count of the side effects, she has fought and conquered her Liver disease. Lets keep our fingers crossed....we went to have last labs last week, where they took 7 tubes of blood, we went to Children's on Friday for her heart exam, results showed normal. We go tomorrow to Children's for her eye exam to make sure no damage was done from the side effects. Our last visit to Children's will be this Friday, which is with her Liver doctor to give us the final news of all results.
This year has been extremely trying on our part, but her and I pulled through. I lost my job due to excessive absentism, but the positive out of it is that I was able to stay home with her and have a great summer! We are waiting for the good news so we may return to our normal lives. Brianna returns to school on August 22nd and plans to do soccer and dance. I will continue modeling until I hear from the college on my Nursing Program.
I will keep everyone up to date on the outcome of this weeks appointments. Thank you again for everything! We could not have done it without the support and prayers from our family and friends.
