I am a Photographer and film maker.
I started my photography career and film directing career simultaneously. As I developed both passions they have been helpful to one another. Now as I work nearly exclusively as a director of television, film, commercials and music videos with large crews and responsibilty, I have truly come to appreciate and enjoy exercising my creativity with photography, working with small teams...often just the talent and I doing something spontaneous. I am rarely without a camera always and always ready to capture something on one of my sets or to design a creative shoot with a few like-minded people.
I love working natural light, with relaxed people and shoot mostly with medium format cameras and film (4x5 and 6x7). This is perhaps why my work looks different - not better or necessarily worse - just different. I love the 'look' of film emulsion and believe it is timeless and reacts in a way to light that I personally find more favourable, so do many of my clients and the talent that is often amazed by the results of our work. BUT, having said all that, I do appreciate the instantaneous process of digital photography.
I am open to discussions regarding collaborations (both paid and TFP with exceptional talent) and if you find my work interesting please contact me about availability. It is my hope that this site will provide additional networking to scout for talent and to connect me to those who are interested in both photography and film work.
I am also a recording artist and producer but you have to visit another site to hear that. I love to travel and fortunately my work has taken me all over the world, which has been one of the very best things about my career to date.
