I am an artist and I always have been. Whether it be writing short stories, perfecting garden landscapes, or building household projects with reclaimed wood, I have always needed something to idle my busy hands. If I ever stopped creating I have no doubt my heart would simply stop beating. For the past six years my outlet and passion has been photography. It started in 2007 when I scored a Canon AE-1 film camera for ten dollars at a garage sale. Within a week I’d burned through ten rolls of film and, thus, my love affair with photography began.
As my style and perception of art has evolved, so has my clientele. Initially what began as a hobby of urban exploration and landscape photography, it quickly turned to model portraiture, eloquently placed in unique settings. I like vintage, I like abandoned buildings, I like country, I try not to over produce, and natural light is the only lighting I like to use.
When the camera is in the bag, and the batteries are charging, I completely relish the crazy quiet moments with my wonderful wife, Stacie, our two crazy kids, and our oversized lap dog, Macie.
**I'd really like to give my profile an overhaul in 2014. Right now I'm off on weekends and am available for time on the weekends. I have no issue with 1 hour sessions, or less. I'd like to meet you before we work together, of course, to make sure we're on the same page , but fast sets are fine with me. Again, I do primarily shoot outdoors but can easily work inside if there is available light...natural light is even better! :-)
I am currently working 7 days a week and am available to shoot early am and late afternoon Sunday (usually 2 hr session) and Evenings after 5 during the week and on Saturday. If you are interested please contact me. :)
Equipment I use:
Digital-Canon 5D, Canon 60d, Canon 40d, and Canon T2i with Sigma EX lenses
Film- Mamiya m645, Canon Ae1, Polaroid Land Camera 230
My list of credits:
I recently had the pleasure of working with quite a few different people at a workshop. I can not say enough about Eric Penrod (132447) and Paragon Photography (3138683). Their advice and willingness to work with me was most appreciated. Two very outstanding professionals to whom I am very grateful. If anyone is looking for nothing less than outstanding photographers, please look their way.
And to Cameo (1875179), thank you for opening your house up and for the great opportunity. Also, (last but not least), AdayAtAtime3 (2891357), a super nice guy with a nice modeling future ahead of him.
Ali (2973443)- Great to work with, PERIOD. Laid back, easy to work with, open minded, eager to do just about anything to get a shot, and just an all around nice person. I highly recommend her for any shoot.
Scott M Johnsen has 160 friends.
