First, a little about me, I do this because photography is my passion. Whether it be in the studio shooting, editing and retouching images on the computer, attending training seminars and sessions or reading the latest photography magazine, I am striving to better myself each and every day. Whenever anyone asks me what is the best photo I ever took was, my answer is always the next one. I look at the role of the photographer as one of society's most important, for we are the recorders of humanity.
I have been actively involved with photography since 1989. My focus has now shifted to the Fine Art side of photography, concentrating on the human form. My preference is shooting in either high- or low-key black and white. Local residential studio. I have been told "It's a little like hell, only with better lighting". I am an award-winning professional photographer and a member in good standing with several photographic organizations including the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), its local state chapter, the Maryland PPA, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and the Maryland State Arts Council.
I am committed to helping select models build their portfolios and achieve their goals but, as of January 1st, 2008 I will in most cases be charging reasonable rates for portfolio sessions. Having said this, I am always open to collaborating with people that are creative, enthusiastic and artistic.
Additionally, I do not pay models unless I am being paid by a third party, in which case the model will be informed and compensation will be negotiated.
