About me
I Started off as an assistant to some of the top photographers - Zanna Wilford, Bailey, John Swannell, Andy Green, etc (Most of which you've probably heard of now, but trust me these are the great and the good). Then I started working for The Evening Standard (Newspaper) in London, photographing actors, musicians and dance performances (Press calls). Then I branched out and began shooting press calls for The Dancing Times, Dance Theatre Europe and eventually got on the books of The Performing Arts Library and my work appeared in every newspaper and arts related magazine in Britain and most european countries. After this I did the London Fashion Week shows for five year for Vogue Nippon (Japan) and portraits for The Nikkei Shimbun (The Japanese Financial Times), plus portraits for L'Official Paris and Moscow. I have also worked for Hello and OK! Magazines.
People I have shot include; Kylie Minogue (Musician), Sir Terence Conran (Designer), Alexander Mcqueen (Designer), Sir Peter Blake (Artist), John Landis (Director), , Sir Paul Smith (Designer), Terence Conran (Designer), Emma Bunton (Musician), S Club 7 (Pop Group), Cat Deeley (TV Presenter), Ant and Dec (TV Presenters), Michael Hesseltine (Politician) oh and Prince's Charles and Harry (Royalty!).

After this I shot Concert photos and for Arena, Camera Press and WENN shooting everyone from;
Emma Bunton to Slipknot. At one point I did 87 concerts in 90 days. I continued shooting ballet and dance performances for press and did a lot of work with The Arts Educational Schools and London Contemporary Dance School/The Place Theatre.

Then in 2004 I was off due to extensive knee surgery and when I returned I started shooting model portfolios and concentrating more on my own work. I have worked with a number of models that have gone on to be known names and I can safely say I have had a part in the success, helping them along the way with promoting them to magazines and agencies. Models including;
Vikki Blows, Ruby True, Nell Nabaro, Nicola Stanford, Danielle Leigh Smith, Sou DeSade, Kat Field, Dolly Diamond, Samantha Bentley, Plus numerous others.
Other notable work includes the Science Fiction Film Festival which I have worked with since 2006 and have shot the campaign photographs for and promo work. Plus exhibitions in The Place Theatre London (For Four Months), The Institute of Kentish Town and The Association of Photographers.

Comments:
My style of work is often labelled 'Avant Garde', which means Alternative models and more mainstream models, in provocative and sexy scenarios, but with an element of the more elegant, classic style.

That said I like to shoot new and interesting images, I don't like to reshoot the same idea over and over.

I have shot in my home/studio so much over the last few years that I've used every backdrop, every corner and every piece of furniture and now I need more variety. Now I am trying to arrange shoots either on location or at the peoples homes in order to create different images. I can travel to you and create new unique images in your home environment or if you have access to somewhere different then let me know.

I always put everything I have into every shoot and expect the same from the people I work with.

I either like to have a basic idea of the shoot and then make it up on the spot, or plan an idea through so we both know what we want and are aiming for, but I'll never plan to the Nth degree,
I like Spontaneity, wild colours in hair, makeup and in personalities (if there’s something different about you embrace it and show it off)
Creativity (Lets come up with something different, less of the backdrops and more depth)
I am at heart a dance photographer so I like movement and random shapes, so be free and express yourself. Show some attitude and own the picture.

I am strongly influenced by Ellen Von Unwerth her storyboards, simple shooting style and sexy grittiness are somewhat noticeable in my own work. . I also like David LaChapelle's sets, he will create huge sets for a photo and make celebrities do random things that they would usually throw a hissy fit rather than do.

------------------------------- Important ------------------------------------------------------------

This is my Job so I'm not doing it purely for fun and so;
I DO NOT pay model and do not pay travel expenses, (I may have done once or twice under exceptional circumstances, but as a rule I do not). The only time I would pay a model is is I have a client and it is a job, then the client will actually be the one paying.

TF* (OR What I now term TFWi) = I will edit the images after the shoot and send you the best web-sized images. So you will end up with about 50 web-sized watermarked images for use on Purestorm, MM, NM, etc. You will get to see the raw images after the shoot and if any stand out to you, then those will be yours (And any hideous ones can be deleted on the spot). I can supply High Res un-watermarked images, but only if purchased. I do not give away RAW or unedited images, I do not give High Res images, due to many occurrences of my work appearing in magazines and on websites without my knowledge and this costs me money. If you are paying for a shoot then you will get high Res images of the images too, on your DVD,that will be sent to you once they are edited.

If you want to shoot with me, then feel free to contact me and I will send you my rates. Do not email me saying 'I love your work and would love to shoot with you' then follow it up with your rates.

If we arrange a shoot I want to speak to you before the shoot just to confirm everything is ok and we are good to go, so I will call or you call me a day or two before the shoot.

Chaperones:

Right Boyfriend is fine, I would just say this; I will probably ask him to sit in the other room while we shoot. I've also learnt over time that BF's tend to make a girl nervous and they can get rather touchy having their GF standing in front of a guy with little or no clothes on. He may say he's fine but he may feel different when he's here. I know I got very jealous when I've been in that situation. Also you may find it a bit intimidating having him watch because you have to play up to the camera and this can make models feel self conscious and it shows in the pictures. Otherwise if you have a female friend that could accompany you that may be better, she'll make you feel more relaxed and comfortable. I like to shoot with new models because you get the freshness from them, but new models obviously are a bit more nervous so a chaperone is a good idea.

----------------------------------------------- 3 STRIKES -------------------------------------------

I work on the 3 Strikes and you're out rule. If we arrange a shoot and you have to cancel, do it within a day of the shoot and that's a strike against you. Do it the morning of the shoot that will be 2 strikes or all three (depending on the circumstances). It's amazing how many people seem to have all four tyres of their car stolen the morning of a shoot, or their grandmother is taken to hospital on that day. Now sure this may happen, but when it happens over and over I become sceptical. So please, please don't make excuses, this is my time and life you are wasting here. If you have to cancel do it at least 48 hours before the shoot, or at least warn me that there is a potential risk to you not being able to turn up, then if it does occur it's not a great shock. If you do cancel with a sensible amount of time then I am happy to reschedule. But if you cancel on the morning of the shoot don't expect a reply or reschedule AND DON'T cancel via a message on here I expect you to call and cancel in person (Or the doctor at the hospital to call me!!)

If you’re interested in working with me just drop me a message.
