Thanksgiving as a concept was with the Pilgrims who settled in the New World. In 1789 George Washington issued a proclamation and America celebrated its first Day of Thanksgiving but it was not a National Holiday. This didn't happen until 1863 when Abraham Lincoln set aside the last Thursday of November as a national Day of Thanksgiving.In 1941, Congress established it as the fourth Thursday in November (sometimes there are five).
Happy Thanksgiving with a bit of history.

I wanted to invite you to an event. The event is called Fashion Clash at L'Enfant Plaza hotel. 480 L'Enfant Plaza SW DC 20024. You can go to their website as well. The event is only $25.00 and starts at 7:30pm. It has two recording artist performing, Bowie State model team is doing a routine and of course plenty of great models competiting for $1000.
