As a young child, Leslie grew up in a household filled with music and entertainment. Both of her parents were both professional gospel singers that toured around the country. At a young age, she knew that one day she would be a star as well. Growing up as an only child, she became introverted about letting her talent being known to others. Numerous opportunities were presented to her, yet she constantly refused and doubted her talent. Because of her self-doubt, not even her parents recognized her gift. One day Leslie decided to overcome her fear and participated in a Karaoke event in Macy’s at Herald Square and completely shocked her parents with her ability. Immediately after, Leslie knew that she was destined to be on stage and wanted to pursue her dream. One step she took to follow her dream was, to play an instrument. Leslie was a trained clarinet player who briefly worked with the All-City Orchestra. Leslie adored music but felt that playing the clarinet was not her calling, but decided to use her voice as an instrument instead. With her dynamic qualities, at the age of 15 she was able to establish a female group that fueled her love of writing music and working within a group setting. Also through working with the group, she was able to come in acquaintance with many of successful music industry individuals. Leslie’s devotion to the entertainment industry has allowed her to move towards other endeavors including modeling, pageantry and writing music. The result of this devotion, allowed her to be nationally recognized as “ Miss Black New York Teen USA" at the age of 16, as well as several runner up positions in other pageants. Given that she was raised in a diverse background, she heavily infuses many styles of music in her singing and writing. After growing to be the height of 5'8, those around her felt that it would be best to begin modeling. For less than a year, Leslie has been actively pursue her modeling and singing career simultaneously. She is eager to watch both of her careers reach an icon status
