My Name Is Jordan.
I'm determined and passionate about what I do, and all the goals I set for myself, long and short term.
I'm 21 years old and already, I feel as though I am making a name for myself. It makes me feel good to know that all my hard work is getting me somewhere.
I set myself high standards, and constantly try and push myself out of any "comfort zone" situations. I believe this is the only way to evolve as an artist. Versatility is very important.
It doesn't matter where you're from, where you have been or what school you have graduated from, in the end all that matters is how passionate you are about what you do and how hard you try to get to where you want to be.
I'm very open minded about a lot of things, which I think is very important for everyone to have in this industry. It leaves doors open to limitless possibilities, allowing myself and the people I work with the opportunity to push boundaries with a beautiful outcome.. Art.
Networking is also very important, something that I have just started taking serious more recently. People who I have worked with all tell me I'm going to make it very far, and see all the potential in me. This in itself, means so much to me.
Experience-
Photography- Been taking photography seriously for the last 5+ years. I’m currently enrolled in my third year at NSCAD University working on my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree majoring in Photography and also taking a Minor Fashion Design.
I've taken many courses that further my knowledge as an artist first and foremost, but most importantly as a photographer. I've taken courses in Black and White Photography, Color Photography, Lighting, Digital Photography, Computer Image Manipulation, Etc. These courses usually are followed by a heavy workload but are good because with each assignment we have a class critique, allowing us to have feedback and constructive criticism to further our abilities as artists.
Digital Manipulation- Been using Photoshop for the last 6+ years, digitally enhancing, retouching and restoring photographs. (Currently using the latest CS4 extended version of Photoshop.) Among others, I would consider myself to have extensive knowledge in post production.
Makeup Artistry- I Work Freelance as a makeup artist. I do the makeup on almost all my models. I work for MAC Cosmetics so its also my day job
. I'm being constantly updated with current trends and techniques of the trade, and working with people everyday is great practice. Our motto is All Races, All Ages, All Sexes, all MAC, which i think is beautiful. We believe in very strict sanitary practices and enforce them with every client or customer. I continue to carry and apply this knowledge when I freelance.
