I'm not your average dick with a camera. It seems as though anyone with a digital point-and-shoot thinks they are a professional photographer these days. Damn photoshop for breaking the neccesity of actually having talent behind the lense! No longer does someone actually need to take a great looking photo, instead they can tweak in post-production. I'm not that guy. Photography is a passion of mine and I do it for love and the sake of art. I've had two uncles who were professional photographers, and I grew up around a darkroom. Since then I've gone through a number of cameras, shooting different ways. I don't aspire to have photography be my career. I do it because I enjoy it, and it comes naturally.
Until recently I strictly shot 35mm and never edited my work, but have had to delve into digital for convenience purposes. However I always have a roll of film handy, and can do my own darkroom work. As much as I fight it though, it’s just so much more cost effective to use digital.
I love shooting pretty much anything. I strive to capture beauty in its natural state, and grasp the essence of emotion and glamour. I’m all about old fashioned elegance, but entwine my own modern edge and perspective. I have the most experience with portraits, glamour, pin-up, live-action, and promotional. However I'm definitely not limited to those and will shoot a variety of themes and concepts, including still-life, landscape and events. My work can be seen in a wide variety of publications, promoional campaigns, and websites.
I do some TFCD/TFP work, but unless I’m intrigued, than rates will apply. If you are a young model or student looking to build a portfolio, than I can work with your budget. Just contact me with what you’re wanting to shoot and what your anticipated final product would be, and we can schedule something. I’m willing to travel if expenses are paid and arranged in advance.
I have stylist, studios, models, and other photographers available upon request. I also have professional graphic design experience with both print and mixed media formats, and I'm always available for freelance work.
