Also: I have a dilemma-
perhaps the make-up artists and hairstylists here on Model Mayhem can help me out.
In a few more weeks a new Business/Networking/Educational website specifically for make-up artists and hairstylists will be open for membership. We have many Oscar, EMMY and Ace Award winning make-up artists, fx artists, and hairstylists already signed as members contributors, and advisors. So, members of all levels of expertise, and specialties, will be in good company. Although the framework, columns, forums, educational video area and such are built, I am looking for input from a larger group of varied specialty artists to put finishing touches, and add features and benefits for our members that have yet to be made available to this community.
As a reward for answering a few quick questions, and to give your input, we will be giving away a free year long membership to all who help us out. Your input will greatly assist us in making this the final word in online resources for make-up and hair.
It won't take long, and your help will be greatly appreciated!

Basic Info: If you are going to work with me, please READ THIS INFO!
I've owned Spatola Designer Images for about 20 years now. I began the business with about 90% of my work being model/actor headshots and portfolios.
However, my background prior to photography is as a make-up artist in the film industry.
Having been nominated twice for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Make-up for EMMY Awards, and twice for Best make-up for Cable Ace Awards, it is likely you won't find a photographer that employs a make-up artist with higher qualifications. When you shoot with me, you'll always have a real make-up artist to take care of you. I want to scream everytime a model asks me- "oh, do you have a make-up artist?" AAHHHHH!!!
I was also one of the most popular boudoir studios in L.A. for many years, having been selected by NBC news for a 4 minute feature story on Channel 4 NBC News. Kelly Mack (from our past NBC4 News interview) "Move over Victoria's Secret! You too can be a lingerie model for a day, all it takes is the desire. These photos are sure to get quite a reaction from the man in your life!" Kelly Mack, NBC News
In the past few years I have focused my efforts mainly on children and family oriented sessions. It is totally rewarding both artistically and financially, but I do miss the energy and excitement of creating images that have some drama and intensity to them. Images where I can create more mood with dramatic lighting. So, for me this is a personal project, simply to put some ooomph back into my art. The resulting images will be used for studio wall and portfolio samples as well as my studio website, and here on MM.
TFP/CD Requirements...First of all- I take very, very few TF sessions. I simply do not have time in my schedule. When I do, I work with only a very few outstanding individuals that are interested in building their portfolio with some creative and dramatically lit images. It's far from about just being pretty, attractive or having a good figure. It's about rapport and finding someone that can emote in front of the camera. I am only interested in COMPLETELY DEPENDABLE PEOPLE, with a great attitude, that want more than pretty pictures. As much as I like drama in my photographs, I do not like any in my working relationships or sessions. If there's drama, or even a whif of tension in setting up a session, trust me, the session will not happen. But if you are DEPENDABLE, PUNCTUAL, FUN and SANE, and you are interested in doing a TFP/TFCD session, we will work out a mutually beneficial arrangement, and get some great images. I am only interested in meeting responsible, and punctual models that are professional in demeanor and attitude. In return I will provide fantastic make-up, great images and a comfortable legitimate studio setting.
I'm not much into endless emails. It's a great, safe way to make initial contact. But, if we agree that we'd like to work together, and I send you my studio number, CALL ME (don't send me back a message saying to call you). I am generally at the studio Mon-Fri 9-5. Things come together much faster, with less hassle and misunderstandings that way- just call!
I am happy to provide you with a CD of all the images at a good viewable (full screen) size for you to select your images. The CD will be ready within 24-48 hours. Oh yeah- I do really dislike misunderstandings- a lot. If you book an appointment with me, I consider it a commitment- don't tell me you have to cancel because you got a paying gig (or worse yet, that you'll choose my shoot over the paying gig if I pay you).
Last minute cancellations do not get a second chance. Got a question? Just ask!
Oh- the 2 most dreaded qualities in any model I photograph- LATENESS and LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS
All of my top 12 friends completely rock!! Particularly Danni Doll, Victoria Vertuga, Christina Panos, Goldie, Nurse Heather, Sara, Krissy, Cin and AMO. They are all great fun to work with! In fact, any of my top 12 I'd be happy to work with again, and again!
and... since space is so limited here, there are...
