On Friday, August 26, 2011, fashion photographer Robert W. Mercer, Jr. launched his 2012 Ripped Genes calendar, the sixth of the very popular series.
The Baltimore native is well known in the Baltimore area for producing fashion events, training models and having his hand in almost anything that is good fashion. He is especially proud of the maturation of his calendars, with this next one presenting equally interesting, photogenic and diverse men. Mercer continues to hone his skills when searching various modeling agencies and online model sites; always on the lookout for a look and/or presence in someone that seems sincere and progressive and real.
There is tremendous buzz surrounding this calendar already. "The Structure Edition", is an 18-month calendar that features 10 new models, 8 returning models, and 2 formerly over-weight models. Their stories touched many hearts and was a source of inspiration for the project. Mercer's vision for his latest calendar moved in a more sophisticated direction: he likes the style and architecture of The Engineer's Club and wanted to outfit the men in classic and timeless suits and after-5 looks.
The 2012 edition includes enough sexy and smart men to last well into 2013. Adding to the excitement this year, Mercer's 2012 body of work includes the artistically mature 2012 Ripped Genes Swimwear Calendar.
Robert Mercer and his calendar models have been featured on local television stations as well as in regional publications. They have made personal appearances in New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Richmond, Miami, Atlanta, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and Washington, D.C.
