Hello,

I joined Model Mayhem primarily to get more experience in taking evocative and communicative portraits, and publicity photos for musicians and other entertainers. To that end I would be interested in taking portrait photos of anyone who is willing to sit for me, as well as fake musician publicity photos (I have some musical instruments for props) or if you are a musician we can do real musician publicity photos. Also interested in glamour, fantasy, and retro look pinup and fashion.

I've been studying studio lighting and portraiture with a very respected retired Canadian photographer who lives in Vancouver, BC. He suggested that I join Model Mayhem to expand my shooting opportunities here in Portland.

I have also worked as an assistant with my teacher on several of his shoots by contacting and arranging schedules for models, setting up and positioning lights, deciding on clothing, jewelry, and makeup.

I'm mostly interested in shooting large format film and working with controlled lighting. I like b/w a lot but also shoot color. I shoot most other film formats including instant prints, but no digital except for previewing.

I'm seeking models, male or female, who also want to gain experience, on a work trade basis. I can afford to occasionally hire experienced models that I can see from their portfolios that they have what I need to seriously advance my skills.

If you have a project you would like photos shot on film for, please contact me. If your idea anywhere near to my interests I'll be happy to work with you at little or no cost while I gain experience. I'm also open to shooting at your location if it would be more rewarding or would be more comfortable. My studio space is pretty bare. I have a few props but it's mostly an empty space with large backdrops.
