My Artist Statement
When I look over the past forty years of photographic artwork I see not only a list of things that make up my professional life but the importance of the journey to whom I an today. As I look over the journey, I see the thing and people and places, and times that make a life.
This journey began for me in a rocket explosion in a rice patty in Vietnam during 1968. In the flash of that explosion was a doorway opening into a new life.
Later came years of art school at the San Francisco Art Institute and at Academy of Art San Francisco. During that time, I participated in over 80 exhibits both in the United States and over seas, Writing grants and receiving awards were also important events on my journey. For over six years I published The Lover Of The Image magazine watch took my journey in new and wonderful destinations and some times those destination are not always clear because of the many side roads to explore.
I have been a photographer for over 35 years and I have an MOFA from San Francisco Art Institute.
