I joined MM 7 years ago. It was a different place. Bad decisions on managing the site, very poor moderation, silly games, poor attitudes in forums has driven away many of the originals, and left mostly amateur newcomers attracted to what who knows.
To be in good company, it has to run by good people, to attract others to be around them. This site is just not working anymore. Technically it's getting very tired. Constant problems, little integration with modern system code, patchwork basically of a huge soup of all sorts. Yet the worst aspect is lack of conviction by moderators on what is essential, what is important, and the courage to stand up for anything at all that is of real value.
Between escort threads, phantom OPs, the notion of outing, inability to call a bad apple such, so called experts having their internet final word, all way too much bullshit for a site that once had a reason of being, and a goal. Of course IB has a good thing for amateurs with cell phone pictures, and internet wanna be models.
Facebook is a behemoth a machine, yet how I was not on FB is a mystery.
Let's see what new sites are ready to take over where MM has left off.
