OjO Magico

My background is in graphic design. Photography allows me to enjoy a different aspect of Design while still using the same principles. My subject matter and ideas are fueled by a desire to explore the world of digital photography utilising my skills in Photoshop to create beautiful scenes, eliminating unnecessary details and intensifying colours. In this way, I can share the vision of my mind€™s eye with the viewer.


My work is influenced mostly by the old masters such as Caravaggio. I am fascinated with Caravaggio’s chiaroscuro effect, a technique he used to contrast light and dark in order to arouse the mood in his paintings. Like Caravaggio, I want to create images where I can direct the light and seduce the viewer to explore the work.

Numerous digital techniques allow me to create a beautiful, painterly impression to achieve a canvas finish, and I much prefer the process of using a computer instead of a darkroom to create and manipulate images.

My biggest achievement in photography so far has been winning the Australian Institute of Professional Photography 2009 Student of the Year Award. I have also been published and numerous photography awards and medals both local and International.

I have successfully completed an Advanced Diploma in commercial Photography receiving the the high excellence award. I am currently Majoring in Art Photography and working on am exhibition series which will be exhibited in November at a Gallery.

I think what makes a good photographer is the ability to keep making the next shot a great photo and improving on the last one.

I normally like to work with extraordinary models who share my creativity and style to make the end result visually attractive. Expression is everything as is being able to pose and create form.

I only do TFCD shoots for my own artistic purposes.
Please note ***You will get digital copies of a few of the best shots, and digital copies of the final artwork from your shoot.
I am very selective about the people I work with and I definitely don't have a lot of free time, so please only contact me if you are serious about working together. I do have a preference to Models who have great expression and have a collection of costumes.

If you contact me as a model to shoot please be aware that it will be as a collaboration only. Also be aware that my concepts can contain nudity so if
you don't do nudes please tell me when you message to be part of my concepts.

Please note! I do not reschedule no-shows and/or last minute cancellations under any circumstances.  If you miss the shoot for any reason, you're off my model list and on my black list which I share with other photographers.

Model release forms need to be signed when the shoot is finished. If you require the form in advance of the shoot please let me know and I will email it through.
